Occupational Health and Safety Policy

This policy will apply to GURUDEV AUTO INDUSTRIES PRIVATE LIMITED at all business locations. GURUDEV AUTO INDUSTRIES PRIVATE LIMITED is committed to providing a health and safe work environment for its workers and preventing occupational illness and injury. To express that commitment, we issue the following policy on occupational health and safety. We will;

  • Prevent accidents and cases of work related ill health
  • Manage health and safety risks in our workplace
  • Provide clear instructions and information, and adequate training, to ensure employees are competent to do their work
  • Provide personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Consult with our employees on matters affecting their health and safety
  • Provide and maintain safe plant and equipment
  • Ensure safe handling and use of substances
  • Maintain safe and healthy working conditions
  • Implement emergency procedures, including evacuation in case of fire or other significant incident
  • Review and revise this policy regularly
Environmental Policy

Environmental Policy

Gurudev Auto Industries Private Limited recognizes that effective management of environment impacts is a fundamental part of our business. We shall strive to integrate sound environmental practices across the Company’s management and governance systems to minimize environmental impacts and attain a leadership position in environmental stewardship. GAIPL shall endeavour to:

  • Maintain positive legal compliance to environmental regulations and conform to the requirements of GAIPL Sustainability Framework;
  • Progressively develop, implement and maintain an internationally accepted environmental management system in our operations and new projects;
  • Take initiatives towards efficient use of natural resources and energy; reduction and prevention of pollution; and promoting waste avoidance and recycling measures in line with internationally disseminated technologies and practices;
  • Enhance environmental awareness through participation and consultation with employees and contractors by training and effective channels of communication;
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders and wider communities to broaden our understanding of environmental priorities, their links to global issues and initiate actions on key environmental challenges;
  • Influence our contractors and suppliers to adopt the GAIPL Environmental Policy, principles & practices and encourage appropriate environmental management across the supply and value chain; Continually improve environmental performance of current and future products, services and infrastructure of the GAIPL; and
  • Monitor, measure, report the progress, performance of environmental conservation and management initiatives in compliance with internationally recognized protocols and communicate approach and achievements to relevant stakeholders. GAIPL shall sign up to this policy or develop an equivalent that shall be implemented throughout its operations.

 

This policy will be reviewed periodically for its suitability and updated as necessary.

Prohibition of Child and Forced Labour

Prohibition of Child and Forced Labour

Gurudev Auto Industries Private Limited’s ‘No Child or Forced Labour Policy’ is based on the Company’s commitment to find practical, meaningful and culturally appropriate responses to support the elimination of such labour practices. It thus endorses the need for appropriate initiatives to progressively eliminate these abuses.

Policy:GAIPL does not employ any person / child below the age of Fourteen (14) years in any kind of work at the workplace. GAIPL does not employ any person / adolescents between the ages of Fourteen (14) to Eighteen (18) years in any Hazardous occupation & processes at the workplace. GAIPL prohibits the use of Forced or Compulsory Labour at all its Locations. No employee is made to work against His / Her will or work as bonded / forced labour, or subject to corporal punishment or coercion of any type related to work.

Implementation: This policy is publicly available throughout the Company and clearly communicated to all employees in a manner in which it can be understood through induction programmes, policy manuals and intranet portals. The workers are informed of these rights.

The implementation of the policy is the responsibility of the Company’s HR Department and the security staff who do not permit minors to enter the factory as workers. Employment contracts and other records, documenting all relevant details of the employees, including age, are maintained at all locations and are open to verification by any authorised personnel or relevant statutory body.

The unit will provide an annual report on all reported, if any, incidents of Child or Forced Labour to the functional head.

Monitoring & Audit: Corporate Internal Audit and EHS departments undertake audit and assessment whenever required.

Compliance during 2022-2023: During 2022-2023 No incidents of Child or Forced Labour were reported either to the concerned units or statutory authorities.

Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Policy

Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Policy

It is requested that this Advisory may be followed scrupulously to prevent spread of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). Some of the important directions / advisories in this regard are as follows:-

  • Make sure that the workplaces are clean and hygienic. Ensure proper cleaning and frequent sanitization of the workplace, particularly of the frequently touched surfaces. Surfaces (e.g. Desks, Tables, & Handles) and objects (e.g. Telephones, Keyboards) need to be wiped with disinfectant regularly.
  • Ensure regular supply of hand sanitizers, soap and running water in the washrooms.
  • Promote regular and thorough hand-washing by employees, contractors, customers, and suppliers. Keep sanitizing hand rub dispensers in prominent places around the workplace. Make sure these dispensers are regularly refill led.
  • Display posters promoting hand-washing, along with other communication measures such as offering guidance from occupational health and safety officers, briefings at meetings and information on the intranet to promote hand-washing.
  • Display posters promoting respiratory hygiene. Combine this with other communication channels commonly used in your organization or business.
  • Brief the staff, contractors, customers, and suppliers that if COVID-19 starts spreading in the community anyone with even a mild cough or low-grade fever (37.8 C / 100 F or more) need to stay at home. Hygiene and physical distancing (minimum 2-metre) should be encouraged. They may be advised to avoid shaking hands and hugging as a matter of greeting.
  • Encourage the staff to work from home wherever feasible.
  • Meetings, as far as feasible, may be done through video conferences. Minimize or reschedule meetings involving large number of people unless necessary. Nonessential official travel may
    be avoided.
  • All employees / workers may be advised to take care of their own health and look out for respiratory symptoms / fever. If feeling unwell, they may be advised to leave the workplace immediately and observe home-quarantine as per the guidelines issued by the MoHFW, Govt. of India.
  • Advise all staff who are at higher risk i.e. older employees, pregnant employees and employees who have underlying medical conditions, to take extra precautions. It may be ensured that such employees are not exposed to any front-line work requiring direct contact with the public. An indicative list of Do’s and Don’ts is also annexed for wide dissemination in your organization.

 

It is therefore requested to take all necessary measures to control and prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Additional aspects of responsibility range from, energy-saving technologies and production processes to resource efficiency, customer service and social and societal responsibility. Environmental protection, resource conservation as well as respecting human rights and labor, occupational health and safety requirements are natural and important components of our business strategy. Compliance with legal regulations and official requirements is thus a clear commitment for the organization and its employees.
